Caroline McCorvey
Caroline McCorvey is the Founder and Manager of Sage Hill Sport Horses. After a successful career in the corporate world, Caroline stepped away to pursue her lifelong passion: creating a place where horses and riders can thrive together in a thoughtful, supportive environment.

From the time she was two years old, Caroline's life has included horses. She doesn't remember learning to ride - only that she always belonged with these large animals.
Raised in Virginia, she grew up with Pony Club and competing in Reginal Hunter Equitation shows and developing deep respect for horsemanship that has stayed with her ever since. With decades of hands-on experience, her connection to horses runs deeper than a skill - it's a way of life.

Arden Powell
Arden is one of our Assistant Trainers and brings over 25 years of diverse riding experience across multiple disciplines. After years of training and competing under top professionals, Arden refined her horsemanship and developed a deep well of equine knowledge. For the past two decades, she has dedicated herself to teaching riders of all levels, offering expert instruction in both riding and overall horsemanship.
Arden is known for building confidence in both horse and rider. Whether you're a complete beginner eager to learn or an advanced rider seeking to sharpen your skills, Arden provides thoughtful guidance—with a gentle touch or the firm encouragement needed for growth.
Our Philosophy
The philosophy at Sage Hill is a bit different than other programs. We believe in meeting riders where they are - and helping them work toward their personal goals, whether those involve confidence, competition, or simply a deeper bond with the horse.
Our mission is to develop well-rounded horsemen and women. What does this mean?
It means creating a learning environment where students gain a full-spectrum understanding of horsemanship - not just riding, but also horse care, stable management, and the knowledge that supports strong, ethical, and effective riders.
In addition to mounted lessons, we offer regular ground lessons that cover topics like tack care, equine anatomy, feeding, safety, and sportsmanship. After completing a learning unit, riders are quizzed on their knowledge - and to celebrate their progress, they'll add a custom-designed leaf to our mural (coming soon)
Our program is a great fit for Homeschool Families too. With structured educational components and hands-on learning, students can earn credit hours while building confidence, responsibility, and real-world skills in a supportive, outdoor setting.
We also incorporate tools like Equicize (a strength training class made for equestrians) exercise, a strength-training class designed to specifically for equestrians, to help riders build balance, stamina and body awareness - both in and out of the saddle.
